A number of e-book and educational content providers have made their materials freely available during the current college closure. We will add any new resources to this page as we find them

Proprietary Ebooks & Journals

Bloomsbury

Bloomsbury have provided access to the following resources

Berghahn Books

Berghahn Books supply e-books, exam materials and journals in social science subjects. They are offering individual access to their e-books until the April 30th. Use discount code REMOTE20 at checkout.

They are also offering a growing collection of Open Access texts which can be view here

Berghahn are further offering acces to all of their proprietary journals until 30th June. Please click here for more information on these.

Cambridge Core

Cambridge have made 700 academic textbooks freely available, along with book chapters and articles. The resouces cover a wide range of subject areas. 

CJ Fallon

Another resource for Education students as CJ Fallon is making their e-books freely available as well. Click the link above for more details. 

The Early Education Journal 

The Early Education Journal is published termly.  Each journal takes on a theme, and articles may take the form of case studies, research write-ups, new pedagogical approaches or reviews from a range of practitioners in the early years field.

EBSCO E-books

EBSCO have opened up their full range of E-books covering a wide range of subjects including Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences

Edco

The Educational Company of Ireland have made all of their Primary, Junior and Leaving Cert e-books available for students, parents and teachers. Click the Edco title to see the registrations codes. 

Folens

Folens are making their all of their digital resources and e-books freely available during COVID-19. Again, this will be of interest to Education students. To access the resource, click on the link above and use the following codes when registering:

Geographical Association

The Geographical Association provide access to early years, primary and secondary teaching resources, as well as journals and magazines. 

Hathi Trust Digital Library

Hathi Trust provides access to 17m digital items with a particular emphasis on History. 

iRevise 

iRevise are providing free study resources to all students for one month along with some live online Maths tutorials. This will of benefit to Education students. Click the link about for more information.

NATE

National Association for the Teaching of English have provided a number of resources focused on teaching the English curriculum to primary and secondary school students. 

Oxford University Press

Oxford have made their online teaching courses, e-books and webinars freely available for the duration of the closure. Their e-books include lots of academic texts across a wide range of disciplines, including Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences subjects among others. 

University of California Press

Accessibility to all online journal content until end June 2020

University of Michigan Press

The 1,150 eBook titles, free-to-read for online. Including scholarly output published since 2012.  New titles will be added as they are digitized. Note: only free-to-read online, not to download. End of academic term 2020

Open Education Textbooks

Open textbooks are not just freely available during the college closure, but are peer-reviewed academic publications that are openly licensed and thus freely available all of the time - so they are basically pandemic-proof!

The OAPEN Library contains freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of humanities and social sciences.

OpenStax

A wide range of academic textbooks that are peer-reviewed and openly licensed, and 100% free.

Public Libraries

Public Libraries also provide a range of brilliant resources, including access to children's and adults popular fiction and non-fiction e-books, audiobooks, e-magazines, online courses and much more. Check out the Libraries Ireland website for more information.
