What is Leganto?

How would you like to have everything your students need for your course in one place? Leganto can help you do that!
It allows you to provide access to every resource and material needed. This is facilitated through the Library. 

 

Online resources such as ebooks and journal articles, physical resources, documents, videos, etc. can all be added to your Reading List. You can divide and organise your Reading List whichever way you would prefer. For example, you can list the books in the 12 weeks of the semester that they will be used or in preference of importance. You can flag essential resources, highlight recommendations and leave notes for students under every resource along the way. 

How to Start

Register your interest in using MIC Reading List software on your course by selecting it as an option on LEAD's Moodle site registration form.

Or

Inform the Library by emailing MICReadingLists@mic.ul.ie that you would like to use the reading lists and include the course code, module title, semester and also the Moodle code (this is available at the end of the course Moodle URL - see example below Moodle code is 1943):

More Leganto Features

There are many other helpful features of Leganto. Some include:

  • Requesting books which are not available on Catalog via Leganto
  • Restricting student access and/or using sharable links to specific weeks/section
  • Using the Student Discussion feature
  • Using the ‘Cite It’ tool in your Reading Lists (and editing citations)
  • Importing Endnote Citations into your Reading Lists
