The Library's Acquisitions section manages the Library's subscriptions to serial publications, both print and electronic. MIC Library provides access to a wide range of electronic journals and databases, and enables access to electronic resources available through the Irish Research eLibrary (IReL).
MIC subscribes directly to approximately 140 journals. Users can access many other titles on the library website via online journals and online databases which are available via the college network and externally to registered users via the Library website.
Requests for recurrent subscriptions such as journals/databases must come from academic staff.

In addition to direct subscriptions, MIC Library also provides access to content through the IReL Consortium. All journals available through MIC library subscription to IReL are available in the MIC Library online resources collection, and can be searched from the MIC library website either via the journals search or the Online Databases search
IReL is the Irish Research eLibrary: a government funded electronic research library. It provides access to online resources in Science, Technology and Medicine, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
