Welcome to the Worldview Toolkit - a resource for Dóchas members and stakeholders to deepen our engagement with the Irish public on issues of global development, equality and citizenship. Here you will find:

Global Village is a Global Citizenship Education (GCE) programme for primary schools in Ireland. It aims to support primary school pupils to become active global citizens committed to building a fairer and more sustainable world.

Global Education Digest provides a reasoned bibliography of academic and research materials relevant to the field of global education, as defined in the Maastricht Global Education Declaration (2002). This multilingual database currently covers material that has been recently published in English, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovakian, and Spanish.

The research platform provides visibility and recognition to the GE community. It serves as a work instrument not only for researchers, but also for policy makers and practitioners, as the presence of languages other than English and grey literature constitute important elements that broaden the GE community.

Developmen Educaton offers resources to stimulate debate and discussion about the issues and challenges we face and which encourage us to make decisions about the type of world we need and want to create.

It is a place for primary and post primary teachers, youth workers, adult and community educators and those with an interest in development, sustainability and human rights.

Irish Aid’s WorldWise Global Schools (WWGS) is Ireland’s national Global Citizenship Education (GCE) programme for post-primary settings.

WWGS was set up in 2013 as the key channel through which Irish Aid support for GCE in post-primary settings is to be coordinated. The aim of the programme is to increase the number of post-primary settings engaging in quality global citizenship education by providing a comprehensive range of supports.

Irish Aid is the Government of Ireland’s development cooperation programme. The programme works with partners around the world to tackle poverty, hunger and humanitarian need in over 130 countries. Their GCE supports in Ireland include programmes in schools, a grants programme, workshops in their centre freely available to all schools, and the Our World Awards which includes free lesson plans and resources for teachers.
